Frequently Asked Questions

How can I buy a ticket if I don't have a credit card?
You can pre-purchase tickets at any Moshtix outlet in Sydney. A list of these can be found here. Tickets may also be bought at our box office (subject to availability) which is open from 7pm on each night that we screen a film.

Can I buy tickets on the door?
Yes, subject to availability. You can also hire a bean lounger for $8, a blanket for $4, and upgrade to a deck chair from a General Admission ticket for $6.

What is a Star Class ticket?
Star Class tickets include deck chair hire, reserved seating and complimentary sparkling wine on arrival. Star Class Ocean Lounger tickets include bean lounger hire, reserved seating, complimentary sparkling wine on arrival and a Ben & Jerry's ice-cream mini.

I bought my ticket online and my PDF ticket hasn't come through yet what should I do?
If it gets to the day of the screening and you still havn't received your PDF ticket from Moshtix just bring your ID and you will be able to gain entry.

Can I buy a Gift Voucher?
Yes, you can purchase gift certificates here.

How do I redeem a Gift Voucher?
Call 1300 438 849 (1300 GET TIX) to book into a night of your choice.

Can I change my ticket to a different night if I change my mind?
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a session is cancelled due to dangerous weather your tickets will be transferable for any other night in the season.

What about if it rains?
Please bring your wet weather gear. We are an all weather event, and will run the film unless the weather conditions make it dangerous to do so. If a session is cancelled due to dangerous weather your tickets will be transferrable for any other night of our season.

How do I find out if a screening has been cancelled?
You will be notified via email if you booked online, otherwise notification will be on the website in Recent News.

Is this an over 18 event?
Yes, the Bondi Openair Cinema has a fully licensed bar. Under 18s will be permitted when accompanied by an adult.

What are the ages for a child?
Children under 6 enter for free!

Can we purchase drinks and food at the event?
Yes. There is a fully licensed bar and food options by Sonoma Bakery are available.

You can also purchase a Romantic Nosh or Deluxe Picnic Hamper package when you purchase your ticket, which includes the below. These must be pre-booked online prior to the screening.

Romantic Nosh: Sonoma bread with brie and fruit compote, summer garden salad with avocado, fruit box, chocolate brownies and a bottle of red wine. ($55)

Deluxe Picnic Hamper: assorted cheese and cold cuts, Sonoma bread and fruit compote, summer garden salad with avocado, fruit box, chocolate brownies and a bottle of red wine. ($75)

Can we bring our own food and drink?
You are welcome to bring your own picnic but please no BYO alcohol or glassware.

What is the seating arrangement?
Seating is unreserved on the Dolphin Lawn, come early to get a good spot and to enjoy the sunset & live music. Bring your own picnic blanket to sit on, or hire a bean lounger onsite.

Is this an accessible event?
Yes, Bondi Openair Cinema is an accessible venue for people using wheelchairs. Please email or call us if you need assistance during your visit to Bondi Openair.

At what time does the event start?
Doors open at 5:30pm with live acoustic music and DJ sets. The film screens at sundown (usually around 8:15pm).

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, four-legged best friends are welcome on the Dolphin Lawn as long as they are on a leash at all times and owners take full responsibility, clean up after them and ensure they don't bother other guests.

Any recommendations?
We advise that you bring a warm jumper or blanket even if it has been a hot day as it can get chilly by the sea in the evening. Blankets are also available to hire onsite for $4.
